Types of Sentences Activities and Assessments with Editable Cards
Types of Sentences Activities and Assessments with Editable Cards
Just updated with another activity!! Students will practice sorting groups of words into "sentence"
or "not a sentence" category.
This is a fun way to help students learn about sentences and master the 4 types of sentences.
This unit includes 3 sentence sorting activities that we do as a class, then they become centers for a few weeks.
Sentence or Not a Sentence Sort
Sentence Types Sort
Sentence Attributes Sort
The sentences are written with a low readability level so the students can focus on the skill of sentence types, rather than struggle to read the text.
There are blank editable cards so you can make your own sentence examples if you choose.
The heading cards can be used from kindergarten through fifth grade. Heading cards included are:
Asking
Telling
Statement
Command
Question
Exclamation
Interrogative
Exclamatory
Declarative
Imperative
also editable cards so you can personalize any heading
Included are worksheets that can be used as assessment or center reinforcement. The worksheets are written at 2 levels. Some worksheets are easier and can be used for first or second grade. The others are for third, fourth, or fifth grades. As with the centers, the text are not be challenging for the students to read.
Answer keys included!
